Journal of Research for Christianity in China (JRCC, Semi-Annual, ISSN: 2325-9914) is edited and published by the Christianity and China Research Center in Los Angeles, USA. The journal was launched in December 2013. JRCC is an Open Access journal, and all articles are published under a CC BY-NC-ND 4.0 license.
Aims and Scope: JRCC is an international and peer reviewed journal publishing high-quality, original, and significant research in (Chinese) Christian studies. The journal's scope encompasses all studies of Christianity (in China), including historical, philosophical, theological, and textual research, as well as comparative studies of Christianity, among others. JRCC aims to provide a platform for academic exchange among scholars engaged in the study of (Chinese) Christianity, religion, and culture; to promote dialogue between Chinese Christianity and Chinese religion and culture through academic research; and to offer valuable references and academic reflections for the future development of Chinese culture. The journal particularly focuses on providing an academic platform for young scholars and warmly welcomes those from diverse majors, disciplines, and backgrounds to conduct in-depth analyses on topics related to the construction of Chinese culture. We welcome submissions on Chinese religions, Chinese culture, the history of Christianity in China, Chinese theology, and Biblical studies, especially interdisciplinary, forward-looking, and exploratory articles, as well as academic papers facilitating cultural and religious dialogue. Scholarly book reviews and reports on academic developments are also welcome.

Publication Frequency: JRCC is published semi-annually, in June and December of each year.
Article Processing Charges: JRCC does not charge authors or any third party for publication. The submission, processing, and publication of manuscripts are free of charge. There are no article processing charges (APCs), article submission charges, membership fees, or language editing fees. Authors are not charged for color photographs or extra pages. There are no hidden costs.
Journal History:
JRCC was founded in 2013, edited and published by the Christianity and China Research Center in Los Angeles, USA, with Dr. Ling Li, Director General of the Center, serving as Editor-in-Chief. Starting from Issue 2 in 2014, JRCC was jointly edited and published by the Christianity and China Research Center in Los Angeles and the Center for the Study of Religion and Chinese Society at Shanghai University. The first five issues were published in both print and electronic formats. From Issue 6 onward, the journal transitioned entirely to online publication. Since Issue 15 in 2020, Dr. Qinghe Xiao from the Department of History at Shanghai University has served as Editor-in-Chief, with Drs. Qiang Yu and Rui Peng as Associate Editors, and Dr. Ling Li as the journal advisor. The editorial board was expanded to seven members. Since Issue 17 in 2021, the journal has provided honoraria to authors and executive editors. From this issue onward, the journal was included in the Taiwan Airiti Library Database and began providing DOI links for each article. In 2025, the Editor-in-Chief is Prof. Qinghe Xiao from the Department of Philosophy at Peking University. The Associate Editors are Prof. Rui Peng of Nanchang University, Prof. Ping Liu of Fudan University, and Prof. Xuesheng Wang of Chung Yuan Christian University in Taiwan. The editorial board has been expanded to 18 members.
Milestones:
- December 2013: JRCC was founded in the United States.
- June 2014: JRCC began joint publication by the Christianity and China Research Center (USA) and the Center for the Study of Religion and Chinese Society (Shanghai University).
- June 2016: Print edition discontinued; full transition to online publication.
- December 2020: Dr. Qinghe Xiao appointed Editor-in-Chief; Dr. Ling Li became journal advisor.
- December 2021: Included in the Taiwan Airiti Library ACI database; began assigning DOI links to articles.
- June 2025: Editorial Board expanded to 18 members.
